Frequently asked questions

What organizations ask before deciding. If your question is not here, write to us and we will answer it.

Who is the system for?

Security and emergency response organizations that run teams in the field - fire and rescue, emergency medical services, municipal security and patrol, policing, readiness squads, search and rescue units and volunteer groups. It is an internal working tool, not a service for the public.

Is this an emergency service? Can it summon an ambulance?

No. TacOps is not connected to government emergency dispatch centers, does not receive public calls, and is not a substitute for the emergency services. In any life-threatening situation, contact the public emergency services first.

How do people get access?

Accounts are issued by the organization's administrator only. There is no self-registration and no way in unless someone in the organization created the user - a deliberate decision, not a technical limitation.

Which devices does it run on?

A native app for iPhone, iPad and Android, plus a command station that runs in a desktop browser. The same data and the same picture across all of them.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Partly, and by design. It keeps showing the last known picture and marks it as out of date, queues actions taken offline and syncs them when the connection returns. Navigation works without a network.

Who can see my location?

When your location switch is on, the members of your unit see you on the map, and above them so do role-holders whose permissions reach your unit - all inside your own organization. When the switch is off, the system stops writing your location to the server: it is not hidden in the interface, it genuinely stops.

Where is the data stored?

On managed cloud infrastructure, on servers in the United States. Only the current position is kept for live display; no continuous movement history is accumulated. The full detail - data types, retention periods and user rights - is in the terms and privacy policy.

Is there support for Shabbat and holiday observance?

Yes. A team member marks it in their profile, the team can see it, routine alerts respect the rest period and rostering takes it into account. Carriers of a kosher phone can also be marked.

Is the system in Hebrew or English?

Both, with full right-to-left support. Each user chooses their own interface language.

How long does it take to roll out?

It depends on the size of the organization and how much of your data is already organised. Setup itself is quick; what usually takes time is gathering the roster and qualification records. You can start with a small group and expand.

What happens if we want to stop?

The data can be exported, and information is deleted or anonymised subject to retention obligations under law. An organization should always be able to leave a system.

I found a security issue. Who do I contact?

security@tacops.co.il. Responsible disclosure is taken seriously and handled quickly, and we will tell you what was done.
